The history of Boucheron watches
Frederic Boucheron opened his first shop in 1858 at Galerie de Valois, at Palais-Royal. His atelier was opened in 1866, and only a year later he won a gold medal at the International Exposition in 1867.
Historically much loved by royals, the dynasty of Boucheron lives on today. In 1878, when visiting Paris, Russian Prince Felix Youssoupoff purchased a corsage decorated with six detachable diamond bows. In 1921 he was commissioned to produce a tiara for Lady Greville. This was later passed on to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and then Prince Charles gifted the tiara to his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
In 1893 he moved to 26 Place Vendôme, an address still inhabited by6 the brand today. During the same year, he opened a store in Moscow, which was later transferred to St Petersburg in 1911.
Although the founder Frédéric Boucheron passed away in 1902, his family continued his legacy. In 1903 they opened a shop in London and an office in New York. They continued to open shops around the world. In 1973 a shop was opened in Japan, in 2005 Shanghai and Dubai and Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong the year later.
In 2007 Boucheron and Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux worked together to produce a unique range of watches.
