The history of Cerruti watches
Cerruti was founded in 1967 by the Italian stylist and fashion designer Nino Cerruti, with the initial store in 3 Place de la Madeleine in Paris, France with a menswear collection. Womenswear was added in 1976. Georgio Armani worked for the brand before starting his brand. In 1978 Cerruti launched its first of many fragrances, Nino Cerruti pour Homme.
In the 1980s Cerruti developed links with Hollywood and designed clothing for famous films such as Pretty Woman, Bonnie and Clyde, Basic Instinct and American Psycho.
Cerruti’s family has a history in the clothing trade, in 1881 his grandfather opened a textile mill in Italy. This date, 1881 is used within the brand, including on its watches. Cerruti 1881 features heavily on the Debossed Strap Sounter Panel Watch, Stainless Steel Link Watch, Croc Embossed Leather watch and the Contrast Dial Stainless Steel.
